With its intense cherry color this 100% Prieto Picudo boasts a bouquet of mature, ripe fruit with roasted hints & subtle touches of licorice. Well balanced with a rich & fleshy sensation leading to a long finish.

Rafael Alonso, the owner famed for bringing Prieto Picudo back from near extinction. He discovered that one of the main difficulties in growing the variety (native to Castilla y Leon), where the high humidity & cool temperature at night during the growing season led to excessive rod & mildew. Rafael introduced a trellised system to the vineyard & with much success now has some of the oldest trellised Prieto Picudo vines in the world. The vineyard is named ‘Gamonal’.
